Would a definite article prove that Jesus is God?

from what i've studied of jw's, john 1:1 is interpreted as "and the logos was (a) god".

therefore, because there is no definite article in john 1:1 for example, one supposedly cannot confirm that jesus is referred to as "the god".

so my question for the jw is "what if jesus were reffered to with a definite article in the nt"?

and by the way not saying you have to be baptist, lutheran, pentecostal, whatever, just that you accept christ as the son of god and equal as the scriptures say! thats the difference, there is no true org.....just a true gospel we all share

what is blasphemy, thinking that you are a son of god????we are all sons of god...no?????? Maybe its claiming to be like God in any way.... I think you would do well to read Isaiah cover to cover three times and then answer.....the Jews knew that God alone was in charge, would not give his glory to another, and created the earth all by himself! All such notions were either false and if so should be discarded or Jesus was a liar and the new testament should go in the trash with it .....or....dont want to get crazy here.... Jesus is that same one, Forgive me God for losing my give a crap on you stiff necks.......I guess the scripture where Jesus says you must be called from the father to understand Him is for real...my prayer....he calls you. The only ones who are confused about the scriptures and claim contradiction are the ones who refuse to accept Jesus as God..........May you please see it! I came to this website after being, myself and my family(well most) out of the org for a while.. and never expected this level of darkness until now. make sure the article is before the predicate LOL get a grip.... you want to translate a bible and start a cult too....... or maybe go to the faith that has been around for a while seeing as how the scriptures say that in LATTER times false prophets (not true light) would arise!!!

Designs, i think you are the only one that gets it, the rest of you, are you sure the advance participle does not nullify the true word of (a god).......How many Gods do you have, is there 5 gods.....10....20........how many saviors........for Gods sake who do we look to..........call me pagan

I just think it's hard for most JW's to get their arms around Jesus being YHWH because its treated as a proper name, that of God the Father alone rather than a title or phrase(the I Am)....truth is we will never know unless we learn to travel time and see for ourselves. I do know this though that the word does not exist in the text of the NT and this is evidence that it was not used by the early diciples or by Jesus Himself! The true emphasis of the NT is on Jesus and that glorious name, and by no other including (YHWH the name) are we saved! My wife is a christian fortunate enough never to be exposed to this cult and is puzzeled to the level we study indefinate articles and such and I see her point......knowledge itself is not what saves or made Christ happy but raw faith like that of the gentiles that did not know Him! I know that damnable cult has ruined us all but I think we would all do well to be "like Babes" again and just look to Him as a Father......I don't know if some ever will........and that means Mission accomplished WT!

The YHWH of the old testament said in Isaiah and says over and over I am the only God, only Lord, Only savior, that he will NOT share his Glory with another, this is all very confusing if you hold to a belief system like the JW's and not believe their one. this ones for reinna if jehovah planned to send micheal the arch angel make him lord and savior and share his glory with him, why did he lie to isaiah about it???????? or did he just not know what he was going to do at the time , or maybe chickened out at the last moment and sent an angel instead! Not being blaspemous just pointing to the absolute Absurdity in this doctrine! There is one answer to the riddle, Jesus is YHWH or some part thereof

Fake Knock and Other Sneaky Tactics During Field Service

yeah, i hated "field circus".

i don't like bothering people on saturday mornings about the latest watchtower & awake magazines and try to convert them from their religon to become a jehovah's witness.

so, what i did was just wait until the group passes by and fake knocked.

I know were off topic but this is so true, my ex wife and mother of our two boys is still a dub, unfortunately for her even after a huge protest, i was awarded dual/equal custody...... my boys are both teens now and it was very easy for them to make the fade..........lets see my buddys are having a birthday so its time to go to dads, its christmas dads, now in order to keep up she has said the elders said it's fine if they go to the Birthday just DONT eat the cake. Has any one else heard such fool as this? When I was growing up I was told in school that if there was a party, To the library......

something else that I think has been lost in all of this is the Word. The jews long before the first century had discontinued the utterance of the divine name. Its lost. the JWs claim to pronounce it correctly and they may but the point I am trying to make is this........I believe john was in fact refering to that very name or Word, John 1:1 in the begining was yahweh, and yahweh was with God and yahweh was God. He was in the begining with God. I know some will say how was Yahweh with Yahweh. a good ot example of this double talk can be found in zechariah 2:, I will use the new world translation here for the benifit of the JWs.

8 And the word of Jehovah continued to occur to me, saying: 9 “The very hands of Ze·rub´ba·bel have laid the foundation of this house, and his own hands will finish [it]. And you will have to know that Jehovah of armies himself has sent me to YOU people.

so here jehovah says jehovah sent him???????

and again in zechariah 10:8-12

what is lost here is that the name jehovah, yahweh means the I am. I am the wind that blows back the red sea for you to cross, I am your savior, I am the way ,the truth, the life, what reoccurs time and again thru the entire bible is there is just one. But he has three personages!

Would Jehovahs Witnesses have us believe the first 500 or so pages of the bible is dedicated to One god who claims to have created the earth by himself alone as in Isaiah 44:24

to another lessor god that was there and was the master worker...........I agree with the former post that relects Jesus's words.....But who do you say I am?

Thats why they stay depressed all the time, most JWs i know eat a bowl of prozac with milk for breakfast! A bible study and a conversion of someone means your really doing it right! When you do you get treated diffrently! i can't tell you how many times I heard "brother so and so has 5 bible studies and he has brought so many people into the truth", it makes me sick to think about it! When you try just as hard and just can't seem to get anywhere..........and now looking back, I don't have anything to be sorry for......well once I was dating this "worldly" girl and was told to break it off or else! She and I did'nt work out but she started coming to the meetings for me! Of course she realized that I was not the best of associates...she still goes.....I feel bad about it! I swear more conversions are done in the bedroom than in the field ministry!

has anyone on the board tried to challenge this rule?.
